Monique's love of nature and fantasy has been translated into many of her art forms, primarily painting, drawing and writing. She likes to encourage a child's interest in discovery. Monique colors the pages of her books with whimsical images that are playful and stimulating to the imagination.

The studio room where Monique works is filled with paintings and drawings by her grandfather, mother, father and many of her friends. The view through her studio window of the natural landscape outside provides a place for dreaming and recharging her creative spirit. The beauty inspires the background for many of her ideas. She wants to share the beauty of the creatures that live among those landscapes through her art. It is her way of expressing her love of animals and appreciation of their special place on earth. Out of that love was created Toulouse the Moose® and his friends and the artwork for her paintings, cards and posters.

Monique's goal is to give a child and the child within a place to dream and a place to embrace the whimsical. Her passion is helping children to realize their potential and ultimately enjoy their imagination and to believe in themselves. Through her art and stories she wants the viewer to rejoice in life with the same enthusiasm as a child views the world.

Your friend forever, Monique F. Rea
